List-less No More

It’s no secret that I love me a good list.  Take our wedding for example. I had so many lists going that I had to make a list of my lists. And it felt gooood.  List making is a calming exercise for me. Kevin’s even been known, in the midst of a crisis, to grab pen and paper and say “Let’s just make a list about it, so you’ll feel better, okay?”

So I’m going to start of 2014 by doing something I’ve wanted to do for a long time: making a list of everything that I want to do to the Little House.  If I lose you halfway down, I apologize.  There’s still so much we want to do.

I’m sure there’s lots of things I’m leaving out, but I think that’s enough to keep us busy for now, don’t you?

FIrst of all, your home is beautiful already. Isn’t it amazing that we could have such long lists when our houses are already great? 😉

This actually makes me get the hankering to make a list right now.
    1. Get off my butt.
    2. Do something. 😉

Can I just say, I adore your little house! I live in inner London and my flat has one bedroom, a kitchen, a little bathroom, a rather small combined dining/living room and an entry hallway about 3m long. That’s it. No laundry (the washing machine is in the kitchen and we have a collapsible clothes line which generally lives in the living room). No spare room. No office. No built-in wardrobes (oh, what I’d give for a built-in wardrobe!) No backyard. No front yard. There isn’t even storage space under the bed because the landlord had an ensemble-type bed in here before we moved in! I couldn’t tolerate this kind of living for an extended period of time (we’re here for 2 years max!) but it nearly makes me miss our little three bedroom flat that we used to live in back home (about the same size as your house here). (There were a lot of problems with it so I don’t miss it that much.)

I also love making lists! When I have a cleaning day I make a list of cleaning tasks to do. I always keep a shopping list. I make lists of Christmas and birthday gifts for family. When we go on holiday or camping I have a list of things to pack. Once we own a house I am sure I will be making lists of renovations and alterations I want to make, too! :)

Thanks, Leah! I don’t think we could downsize as much as you have! Way to go! I never though we’d need this much space… and at time it feels like our little house is bursting at the seams!

      Listers unite!

Looking forward to watching all of these plans come together Jess! Really loving what you have planned. I need to make a similar list. We have so much to do, but a lot of it revolves around things like “rewire most of the house,” “redo the plumbing,” “put in new outlets,” “move entire walls,” “change room configurations.” One day, I’m going to get to settle into this house, but for now, I’m living in a never ending construction zone.
