Well, almost a project. A project-in-the-works. A project-bun-in-the-oven.
We’ve decided to move on from the backyard until it’s cooler. There’s still a lot to be done out there, but since the majority of it is paint related it can’t happen until it gets below 90. While most people have to wait for it to warm up in the winter before they can paint, we have to wait until it cools down in the summer.
Instead, we’re going to start on one of my biggest pet-peeve projects: the office flooring.
That picture (from before we built our desks) doesn’t do it justice. This is where the dogs come in, wet and muddy, from the backyard. It’s where we pile things to be taken out to the garage. It’s been the scene of pet potty training accidents, spilled wine, and muddy footprints (our own and our puppy’s).
In short, the carpet is GROSS.
And it’s finally, finally going away. Our next free bulk trash collection is in three weeks, so we plan on having the old carpet and subfloor (which we suspect is in pretty bad shape) ripped up and on the curb by then.
In the meantime, we’re headed to the new Tile Shop store that just opened over lunch! Check out our Instagram feed to see what tile we find!
