Blogiversary Week: Our First Giveaway!

One year ago this week Kevin and I started Little House. Big Heart. That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, this week is LHBH’s very first Blogiversary Week! We want to get this puppy started off right, so we’re doing our very first giveaway!

We thought long and hard for the perfect giveaway, and in the end, decided on a gift card from one of our favorite places on Earth: West Elm. We love window shopping there, dreaming of all the gorgeous furniture and accessories, and finding amazing sales (like we did here on two beautiful jute rugs).

Enough small talk. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty.

THE SWAG: One $50 gift card to West Elm (!!!)

TO ENTER: Comment on this post and tell us your favorite LHBH post over the last year. Did you love our risotto recipe? Or maybe you really enjoyed one of our Pinterest Challenge projects?

GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 11:59 pm

NUMBER OF WINNERS: One lucky LHBH reader

THE FINE PRINT: One entry per e-mail address. Well select the winner using random.org and announce it here on Friday. Good luck!

I enjoyed your post about canning tomatoes using the dishwasher to seal the cans. Clever use of modern appliance to do old-fashioned thing! Happy Anniversary!

I recently loved the handyman post Kevin did on home maintenance. Those were things I never would have thought about in home ownership! Before that, I loved your vacation recaps. I wanted to fly to France right away! Happy 1 year!!

My favorite post was the one where you chronicled how to make the artwork that is currently hanging behind the couch in your living room. It looks so cool and abstract but seems SO easy to do! I’ve got it on my current list of projects and hope it comes out looking as great for me as it did for you guys!

Congrats on your blogiversary! My favorite posts are related to your gardening. I loved the gutter gardens you installed!

  5. Kelly says:

Congratulations!!! My favorite post(s) were your series of posts about your time spent in Paris! I can’t wait until your ledge of pictures turns out!

I’ve been enjoying all of the office posts, as that’s the area I’m focusing on now in my house!

  7. Staci says:

My favorite posts are the ones where you outline your plans/dreams for the backyard. It makes me very excited to continue following–to see what you end up doing eventually!

Yay for your Blogiversary!! And I’m cheating because I have two… the post where you guys adopted Rosie (you know I love any adorable hound dogs!!) and where you refinished the changing table and made it into a bar!

Happy bloggiversary!! Man… I’m having a really hard time choosing a favourite! I’m a regular reader and love a lot of your projects. I think my favourite was your recap about your vacation to Paris. I loved the idea of the bridge with the locks all on it. Close seconds though were your console table post, gardening posts and pretty much any of your recipes- you guys really seem to know how to cook and it always gets me hungry!!

Congrats!! I really enjoyed your posts about your homemade mother’s day and father’s day gifts! I made a copycat version of your oliveoil and lemon hand scrub for the kitchen and love it! Takes the garlic and onion smell off your hands!

Congrats on year one!! Woohoo! It’s tough choosing a favorite post – I’m torn between when you guys did that Coupon Kids challenge and the console table behind your couch (I still can’t get over how clever that is!).

For a designer I know it sounds cheesy, but my favorite posts have been the Handyman Series. I am a home owner and quite handy, but my boyfriend and I are purchasing our first home together and he barely recognizes the difference between phillips and flathead screwdrivers. Your posts are so great because they are good reminders for me and I can share them with my boyfriend to keep him up-to-date. So simple! Thank you for being an encouragement as we start our own DIY house blog!!!

Going to Kaboomtown was a post of yours I booked marked for future use. I always get awful firework pics and can’t wait to try some of these tricks. Guess I’ll be waiting till new Years Eve to try now.

I found your blog during a pinterest challenge because of your ribbon lamp shade. I didn’t end up recreating it, but considered it and I always smile when I see it in your dining room!

Congrats on the Blogiversary! I really loved the gutter garden project, and I love reading how the garden is doing! Tied with… the book club idea, which is AWESOME. I won’t be able to join in the fun until after the wedding, but I can’t wait πŸ™‚

Congrats! I love the gardening posts, but I think my favorite posts are actually about your pets. They’re such cuties!

I love so many of your recipes but I adore the baby spinach and onion quiche recipe. I have made it numerous times and everyone loves it.

So far my favorite is the house tour that you posted today. I like most of your posts so it’s hard to pick a favorite. I like when you cook, but I also like the DIY. I also like Fievel, because he’s a grey version of my b&w tuxedo.

I really liked your raised garden bed in the yard. Too bad we’ve had such a killer year.. but I want to do like you did next year.

I also like when you talk about your kitchen. We want to redo our kitchen and love to see how various supplies have worked for people. For example, I like when you talk about the maintenance of your butcherblock, as we’re tossing them around as a countertop solution (although tiptoeing, as we also want an undermount sink!)

    Keep on bloggin’!

Congrats! I haven’t been reading for too long and I’m craving chocolate right now, so I’m going with your post on Cookies and Cream Cupcakes – they look sooo good!
