The House Blogger’s Book Club: July

All right, here we go! The first month of the House Blogger’s Book Club! This month, we’ll be reading (drum roll please) The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs.

Anyone can participate;  you don’t need to be a house blogger! You have all of July to purchase and read the book (if you choose to join us). On Friday, July 27 we’ll “meet up” to share our thoughts on the novel! If you have a blog, you can post your thoughts that day and link up here. If you don’t have a blog (or the time to write a post that day), you can simply drop by here and participate in the discussion in the comments.

I’m so excited for this! I bought my copy of the book yesterday and my girls absolutely devoured it! Literally. They devoured it. See all the paper on the floor? That’s my copy (ignore the fact that our room is otherwise in shambles; we’re still working on it).

You can purchase the book online on Amazon for $11.20. You can also get it used for much cheaper from Half Price Books (where I buy all my books these days). They have stores in several states, but also have an online shop. For those of you who wanted to be able to buy several month’s books at once, we’ll also be reading The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin in August and Persuasion by Jane Austen in September.

I hope your as excited as I am! I can’t wait to hear what you think of this book. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!

OMG That is soooooooooooooo hilarious! Not really for you and the book but those pups look like they really enjoyed it!

I can sympathize with you about dogs ripping up paper products like that. Jixer LOVES ripping paper. I left a box of kleenex out once and it was EVERYWHERE. She does the same with flyers, books and pretty much anything cardboard. I definitely have to be careful with where we put things!!

Just downloaded my copy! (Although I wish someone would come out with a site like half.com for nooks and kindles) And I understand about the pups, they always have a tendency to get into something! Duds doesn’t chew anything up, but he bit Forrest on the nose this morning (Forrest scared him awake on accident,a big no for formerly abused pups, and poor Duds went into defense mode).Thankfully, Forrest’s nose is a little scratched up, but both of them are just fine! Side note about Duds I know, but I’m super excited to read this book!

Hilarious – our girls love magazines the best! I’m almost done with the book. Let me know if you want me to mail you my copy. (I picked it up at goodwill and I’m happy to share!)

I’m slightly intrigued by your book choice, but I think I’d rather spend the time crocheting than reading about knitting 😉 Let me know if/when you want to learn to crochet and perhaps we’ll have our own “Friday night crochet club” one day (only perhaps not on Fridays, not just crochet, and hopefully with less drama than the book seems to have! lol)
