Happy Mardi Gras!

This is our 100th post!

Kevin and I spent the weekend in New Orleans living up Mardi Gras with some friends. We stayed at a hotel on Canal Street, had barbeque shrimp at Deanies, charbroiled oysters at Acme Oyster house, and beignets at Morning Call (can you tell I judge traveling by the food?). We saw parades, braved Bourbon Street, and in general had a completely awesome time.

Again, these are all cell phone pictures (as we’re still in the market for a new DLSR to replace ours that died) so please bear with the grainy quality and funky white balance.

I really want to go back to NOLA when its not Mardi Gras. The French Quarter is filled with little boutiques and antique shops and the food… well you know me and food.

Can you believe how many beads we got? We had to get a hotel cart to get them all back to our room! Are you celebrating Mardi Gras? Giving anything up for Lent?

Ah, I’m so jealous! I loved England (and I also loved visiting France on an earlier trip). Food is definitely one of my favorite parts of a trip.

Did you get all those beads from the parade?? How on Earth were you even able to get them all back to the hotel!?
